JAMMU, Jun 10 (KNO) : As a goodwill gesture, in a bid to strengthen the Hindu-Muslim communal brotherhood in the area, the leaders and representatives including Women Wing of Janta Dal United JD (U) under the leadership of its State President G M Shaheen has organized an Iftaar Party for the down trodden and Below Poverty Line (BPL) Gujjar and Bakarwal Muslim brothers at Chinore in Bantalab.

G M Shaheen in his communique said, “Our party doesn’t believe in VIP culture to arrange Iftaar parties for politicians and bureaucrats and JDU is only and only party which is working and taking care of down trodden people of the state who have never been invited by big politician of the state.” Referring to recent visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to J&K, Shaheen said, “Rajnath’s visit to the J&K is totally failure on all fronts and The JD leadership has recently been commenting against the governments of the state and Centre, safely ensconced in their most secure villas in Srinagar, cut off from the masses, with whom their contact is almost nil. Their low electoral base in the state is going to shrink more, causing them to become more vocal, the only action which they can resort to, seeking a few minutes of primetime television and some headlines in the press.

” He further urged upon the Chief Minister Mehboob Mufti to address the miseries of the people of border areas due to Pakistan shelling including the masses which are still deprived of power and water supply and said, “This government should address the issues and problems being faced by the people of the state instead of playing the vested interest politics so that people may not suffer for their fundamental rights. Earlier, Social worker of the area Shahida Parveen said that part was arranged as mark of respect for the holy month of Ramzan and was attended by as many as 200 members from both communities of down trodden families.

She further said that the event was organized for maintaining brotherhood and peace in the area under the direction of JDU President G M Shaheen and added that the tradition has strengthened the bond of love between two communities in past and we will be maintaining this in years to come as well. The gathering also prayed for restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Gujjar and Bakarwal Muslims appreciated the efforts made by their hosts and praised the organization for its considerate thinking and said that Hindus and Muslims of this area always share pleasure and grief with each other. “This gesture from the organization has won our hearts and we are thankful to JDU President G M Shaheen who had made great arrangements for Iftaar.
